Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan is one of today’s hottest young female actors. She got her first big break in 1997 when she starred in the hit Disney Movie “The Parent Trap” and has continued to appear in movies and advertisements since.

She was born in New York City on July 2nd, 1986 and lived in Long Island with her parents and three younger siblings. Lohan was interested in acting and modeling from the start and even before she made it big as an actress and singer, she had starred in a number of commercials for top companies such as Abercrombie’s and Fitch, Wendy’s, Pizza Hut, Calvin Klein, and dozens of others.

After the “Parent Trap” became a success she was signed to a three movie deal with Disney and appeared in the Disney channel movies “Get a Clue” and “Life – Size”. At this point in time, she was relatively well known but could not be considered one of the hottest young actresses in Hollywood. Instead of continuing to work and building her fame, Lohan decided to take a break from acting in 2002 so that she could have a normal childhood free from the pressures of balancing school, a social life, and an acting career.

When she did make her comeback to the big screen, every movie she starred in became a huge success. The movie “Freaky Friday” grossed over $100 million in 2003 while “Mean Girls” and “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen”, both created in 2004 also made millions of dollars. Lindsay Lohan had instantly become one of the Hollywood “It” girls and one of the richest actresses in the world. She was even ranked in the mid nineties in the Forbes 100 wealthiest celebrities list.

As we have seen in Hollywood, a scandal or feud helps to increase the fame of any actor and actress. Lindsay Lohan’s feud with fellow teen “It” girl Hilary Duff who starred in a number movies after becoming famous in her Disney Channel Show, “Lizzie McGuire ”, only helped here into becoming one of the most well known faces in Hollywood.

Apart from acting in movies and in commercials, Lohan has appeared on a number of late night television shows including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Late Show with David Lettermen. She has also hosted Saturday Night Live and is pursuing a singing career.
